Well, it shouldn't take long to write a perl script to convert that information into an entry for BIND 8 if they're already passing you something to plug into the BIND 4 .conf file. Configuration file difference aside, either someone takes the plunge and merges all the BIND 8 features into BIND 4.9.6 (creating a BIND 4.10 or wahtever) and continually updates to match or FreeBSD changes to BIND 8 (a much more sensible idea). Personally, aside from the new parts to the configuration file (which I believe add lots of gnarly new features), I find the new syntax much easier to read and more intuitive. Sure your file might be bigger, but it won't hurt your brain as much. Darren
