The system only has one IDE channel not two. The HD is Master and the CD is Slave. Why I thought there was no ATAPI support was that you can't change any of the settings for it. Remmember I am a newbie to FreeBSD so sorry if I sound stupid. I have tried two different CD's a 40X ASUS and a Mitsumi 4*2*8 Burner model number CR-2801TE and neither of them seem to work. So after that do you have any suggestions for me. I would like to get this working as a dedicated system instead of trying to install off of a MS-DOS partition.
