This variable is a directory not a path even thought the comment say that it is a path. This make the site-lisp directory /usr/local/lib/xemacs/site-lisp:/usr/local/share/emacs/site-lisp instead of the intended /usr/local/lib/xemacs/site-lisp (usr/local/share/emacs/site-lisp is used by Gnu Emacs).
