host.

In short answer, yes there is. As for how to do it, I have not a clue.
However, you might want to look up NIS, I think it does that. --

I have finally gotten amd to mount my user directories correctly, which
i
realized that it's still a pain in the butt to have to maintain a
separate
/etc/passwd file for each machine. is there anyway to have all the
machines use the /etc/passwd file on the machine that houses the user
directories?
