Thanks to all the people who responded to my question regarding the Adaptec 2940 and 2.2.2... Most of the comments i recieved indicated that the driver is now stable, so i took a chance and built a FreeBSD box with a 2940 . So far so good.. If it can take being used as a Squid proxy server that gets at least 70,000 hits an hour it should be able to handle anything.. Michael Slater
