The issue almost certainly has something to do with eventtimers or timecounters. Ian and I chatted for a = bit off-ticket about some of the possibilities, but neither of us could narrow = down the root cause. I'm happy to wait for 11.0-RELEASE and try that, but I'm inclined to believe the issue is still present unless a committer can point to a commit that actually fixed it; the only commits I follow presently are to stable/9, and= a search of stable/10 for the word "load" turns up no commits that look relev= ant.
