The 1480 is not a CardBus card. It's a plain 16-bit : PCMCIA card. (I have one, too.) Umm, the 1460 and its ilk are 16bit cards that FreeBSD kinda supports. The 1480 is definitely 32-bit CardBus and worked the last time I tried it on my -current system.
