install mplayer from ports, run pulseaudio, mplayer -ao pulse doesn't work

I have a patch that I have been using for the last six months, but I forget where I got it from. I think it may have been from debian or ubuntu. I can post the patch if requested, but I assume code of unknown province is not welcomed.
