OK, I did and it resolved the problem. My telnet sessions start much faster now too! So now I wonder how to solve the problem when I am trying to connect from my PC at work which is assigned an address via DHCP and thus it is not possible to add a static address to /etc/hosts? Is there anyway to turn off this reverse lookup "feature"? What's the purpose? Thanks again for your help!
