This is just a suggestion from somebody unfamiliar with the 
implementation, but maybe it would be feasible to detect the ccache 
permissions before starting a run, and ejecting with an error if the 
ownership is wrong.  Maybe you only need to check the 16 (0,1, .. F) 
directories and that would be sufficient.
