You mean why you are using more than 100% of the disk? A part of the disk ( 8% IIRC ) is reserved and only root can use it. This part is normally not included when calculating the amount of available space. (Since it isn't available to users.) So the fact that you see a >100% usage just means that you have started to chew into this area. The reason that there is a part of the disk set aside in this way is that, due to the way the filesystem works, performance will drop rapidly when the disk is nearly full.
