I have NS7 and Linux Mozilla 1.5 installed, and flash works in both, but Java works in neither. I have these installed.. linux-XFree86-libs-4.3.0_1 linux-esound-0.2.22_1 linux-flashplugin-6.0r79 linux-gtk-1.2_2 linux-libaudiofile-0.1.11_2 linux-mozilla-1.5 linux-realplayer-8.cs2_4 linux-sdl-1.2.5_1 linux-sun-jdk-1.4.2.03 And have these in /usr/local/lib/linux-netscape7-english/plugins lrwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 42 Mar 2 16:29 java -> /usr/local/linux-sun-jdk1.4.2/jre/bin/java -rw-r--r-- 1 darius wheel 1470464 Jun 25 2003 libflashplayer.so lrwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 78 Mar 2 16:28 libjavaplugin_oji.so -> /usr/local/linux-sun-jdk1.4.2/jre/plugin/i386/ns610-gcc32/libjavaplugin_oji.so And in /usr/local/lib/linux-mozilla/plugins I have lrwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 42 Feb 5 20:57 java -> /usr/local/linux-sun-jdk1.4.2/jre/bin/java lrwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 51 Feb 5 20:46 libflashplayer.so -> /usr/local/lib/linux-flashplugin6/libflashplayer.so lrwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 78 Feb 5 20:55 libjavaplugin_oji.so -> /usr/local/linux-sun-jdk1.4.2/jre/plugin/i386/ns610-gcc32/libjavaplugin_oji.so about:plugins in both browsers shows the JRE present, eg.. Java(TM) Plug-in 1.4.2_03-b02 File name: libjavaplugin_oji.so Java(TM) Plug-in 1.4.2_03 ... but when I try a Java applet (eg http://www.dons.net.au/~darius/Gess.html) I get no applet display - no grey square or popup asking to download a plugin either :( I can view that applet with appletviewer or Konqueror (Konq is using the same JRE).
