No, the ahb is for the 174x series.  The 284x cards are supported by the 
ahc driver.  I don't recall whether you have to compile the kernel with 
eisa enabled though, because the VLB card "appears" at the address space 
of one of the EISA slots and looks just like an eisa card..  Or at least, 
that's how I understand it... :-)
