It's possible to generate temporary files in a secure manner; there's probably something in the ports collection to generate good, random file names. I'm not sure I'd go to so much trouble to avoid using a file for --init-file or --rc-file. That aside, you could try using expect to script the bash session. -- Adam Fabian (afabian@austin.rr.com)
