I've never had problems with DAT drives sharing the same bus as other SCSI devices either ahc0: port 0xb800-0xb8ff mem 0xf2800000-0xf280 0fff irq 9 at device 10.0 on pci2 aic7880: Wide Channel A, SCSI Id=7, 16/255 SCBs sa0 at ahc0 bus 0 target 4 lun 0 sa0: Removable Sequential Access SCSI-2 device sa0: 7.812MB/s transfers (7.812MHz, offset 15) da0 at ahc0 bus 0 target 0 lun 0 da0: Fixed Direct Access SCSI-2 device da0: 20.000MB/s transfers (20.000MHz, offset 15), Tagged Queueing Enabled da0: 4340MB (8888924 512 byte sectors: 255H 63S/T 553C) da1 at ahc0 bus 0 target 1 lun 0 da1: Fixed Direct Access SCSI-2 device da1: 20.000MB/s transfers (20.000MHz, offset 15), Tagged Queueing Enabled da1: 4340MB (8888924 512 byte sectors: 255H 63S/T 553C) cd0 at ahc0 bus 0 target 2 lun 0 cd0: Removable CD-ROM SCSI-2 device cd0: 4.032MB/s transfers (4.032MHz, offset 15) cd0: Attempt to query device size failed: NOT READY, Medium not present da2 at ahc0 bus 0 target 6 lun 0 da2: Removable Direct Access SCSI-2 device da2: 20.000MB/s transfers (20.000MHz, offset 15) da2: Attempt to query device size failed: NOT READY, Medium not present On one of my other systems however, I've had problems with this drive sharing a bus on an AHA-1542CF card, da2 at aha1 bus 0 target 2 lun 0 da2: Fixed Direct Access SCSI-2 device da2: 5.000MB/s transfers (5.000MHz, offset 7) da2: 8669MB (17755614 512 byte sectors: 64H 32S/T 8669C) ... and have had to put it on its own SCSI bus on an AHA-1542B card. Yet, the another drive of the same model attached to an AHA-1542CP on another system has no problems (running at 10 MHz clock rate). I think that the issue is entirely device dependent.
