(Sending to -gnats-submit as it seemed to be missing from the web PR
query; already had been sent to -ports-bug ...)

 Partial success.

 After trying w/ print/ghostscript-afpl version 8.00_1,1 compiled w/
default options (on FreeBSD on 4.8-Release) w/ gv 3.5.8_1 ...

   - "psu-icr-rink-contact02.pdf" was opened w/o errors (except the
message about font embedding which is ignorable).

   - opening of "pr-filehandle_ties.pdf" produced the error message
below w/ only the page numbers showing on left (same problem as
     in the original PR)...

       Error: /invalidfileaccess in --file--

...Again, there were no problems opening any of the two files w/
version 7.04_7 (without X) as noted earlier.
