This is a multi-part message in MIME format. --------------060307070607020707020304 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii; format=flowed Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Hello. I am trying to follow the directions given to me when this error happened, and I am sending you the logs. Can you please help me get this figured out? I am using FreeBSD 5.0. uname output attached... I did a clean install from a CD, went thru cvsup for ports only, and portsdb -Uu. Then I installed opera, xmms, gnometelnet, & grn with no problems. Then I tried to install gimp. It crashes when it gets to the libXft dependency. Once this error happened, X would still start up, but the mouse cursor never changes from an "X" anymore, and the window borders are all missing from any window that opens... (cant stretch, minmize, close etc...) Here are the logs... install-gimp is the screen output. pkg.log is the contents of /var/db/pkg config.log is /usr/ports/x11-fonts/libXft/work/libXft-2.1.6/config.log Thanks! -Jason Zimberoff --------------060307070607020707020304 Content-Type: text/plain; name="uname.txt" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Disposition: inline; filename="uname.txt" FreeBSD freeBSD.comcast.com 5.0-RELEASE FreeBSD 5.0-RELEASE #0: Thu Jan 16 22:16:53 GMT 2003 root@hollin.btc.adaptec.com:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/GENERIC i386 --------------060307070607020707020304 Content-Type: text/plain; name="install-gimp.log" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Disposition: inline; filename="install-gimp.log" ===> gimp-gnome-2.0.0_1,1 depends on executable: gmake - found ===> gimp-gnome-2.0.0_1,1 depends on file: /usr/X11R6/libdata/pkgconfig/gnome-mime-data-2.0.pc - found ===> gimp-gnome-2.0.0_1,1 depends on executable: pkg-config - found ===> gimp-gnome-2.0.0_1,1 depends on file: /usr/local/bin/intltool-extract - found ===> gimp-gnome-2.0.0_1,1 depends on shared library: aa.1 - found ===> gimp-gnome-2.0.0_1,1 depends on shared library: exif.10 - found ===> gimp-gnome-2.0.0_1,1 depends on shared library: jpeg.9 - found ===> gimp-gnome-2.0.0_1,1 depends on shared library: mng.1 - found ===> gimp-gnome-2.0.0_1,1 depends on shared library: png.5 - found ===> gimp-gnome-2.0.0_1,1 depends on shared library: tiff.4 - found ===> gimp-gnome-2.0.0_1,1 depends on shared library: wmf.2 - found ===> gimp-gnome-2.0.0_1,1 depends on shared library: gimpprint.2 - found ===> gimp-gnome-2.0.0_1,1 depends on shared library: X11.6 - found ===> gimp-gnome-2.0.0_1,1 depends on shared library: esd.2 - found ===> gimp-gnome-2.0.0_1,1 depends on shared library: glib-2.0.200 - found ===> gimp-gnome-2.0.0_1,1 depends on shared library: atk-1.0.400 - found ===> gimp-gnome-2.0.0_1,1 depends on shared library: pango-1.0.200 - not found ===> Verifying install for pango-1.0.200 in /usr/ports/x11-toolkits/pango ===> pango-1.2.5_2 depends on executable: freetype-config - found ===> pango-1.2.5_2 depends on executable: gmake - found ===> pango-1.2.5_2 depends on executable: pkg-config - found ===> pango-1.2.5_2 depends on shared library: Xft.2 - not found ===> Verifying install for Xft.2 in /usr/ports/x11-fonts/libXft ===> libXft-2.1.6 depends on executable: gmake - found ===> libXft-2.1.6 depends on shared library: fontconfig.1 - found ===> libXft-2.1.6 depends on shared library: X11.6 - found ===> Configuring for libXft-2.1.6 checking for a BSD-compatible install... /usr/bin/install -c -o root -g wheel checking whether build environment is sane... yes checking for gawk... no checking for mawk... no checking for nawk... nawk checking whether gmake sets $(MAKE)... yes checking whether to enable maintainer-specific portions of Makefiles... no checking for gcc... cc checking for C compiler default output file name... a.out checking whether the C compiler works... yes checking whether we are cross compiling... no checking for suffix of executables... checking for suffix of object files... o checking whether we are using the GNU C compiler... yes checking whether cc accepts -g... yes checking for cc option to accept ANSI C... none needed checking for style of include used by gmake...
