Why add a 3rd machine? Simply add an ethernet card to one of your 
existing (presumably FreeBSD?) machines and teach it to do natd tricks 
for the other machine. With this setup you won't need the hub until you 
add still another machine.

Or is it possible neither of the two machines is FreeBSD'ed?  :-(
