	the file "/etc/host.conf" lists the methods of converting
	domain names to ip addresses. if you want to use "/etc/hosts"
	in preference to DNS, list "hosts" before "bind" in
	"/etc/host.conf"

kryten: {13} cat /etc/host.conf
hosts
bind
kryten: {14}
