  $ perl -pe 's/$/\n/' <mypaper.txt

Mayhap you should learn to use a text formatter like (La)TeX which
handles this kind of thing automatically, and a lot of other
prettiness besides.  Then again, maybe your instructor is forcing you
to turn in your paper in plain text.
