Just fyi, on the newer computers with an onboard PCI IDE controller you can disable the IDE buses, primary and secondary, and fbsd (or anyother os) won't see it. This isn't the same as telling the bios the drive isn't installed, and the option is someplace else, too. Usually in Peripherals, or PCI etc. Anyway, it can be handy in debugging or installs so as not to mixup the os. Riley
