Take a look at the Bull EJB server: http://www.bullsoft.com/ejb/ its an all Java implementation of the full 1.0 EJB spec, including entity beans. Right now, its available as a evaulation download, but Bull has announced that they are going to start distributing it under an open source license. I haven't actually tried it on freebsd yet (or any other platform), however it should work with no problem.
