My vinum configuration only consists of a single vinum volum, consisting of two mirrored partitions from two different drives, namely D vinumdrive1 State: up /dev/ad1s4d A: 0/72106 MB (0%) D vinumdrive0 State: up /dev/ad0s3g A: 0/72106 MB (0%) . The is mounted as /home. On vinum startup, the second plex goes stale with the following message: vinum: incompatible sector sizes. home.p1 has 0, home has 512. Ignored. . On a -CURRENT kernel from May 17th 2004, the configuration seems to work fine. Testing with geom_vinum on the same kernel gives the same result, /dev/ad1s4d goes stale with the "vinum: incompatible sector sizes" message. The problem at least persists in vinum_geom with kernels up to 20040727 (the gcc import). I could not yet verify any further kernels, since world does not currently build correctly for me after the gcc import. Cheers, Peter == vinum l == 2 drives: D vinumdrive1 State: up /dev/ad1s4d A: 0/72106 MB (0%) D vinumdrive0 State: up /dev/ad0s3g A: 0/72106 MB (0%) 1 volumes: V home State: up Plexes: 2 Size: 70 GB 2 plexes: P home.p0 C State: up Subdisks: 1 Size: 70 GB P home.p1 C State: up Subdisks: 1 Size: 70 GB 2 subdisks: S home.p0.s0 State: up D: vinumdrive0 Size: 70 GB S home.p1.s0 State: up D: vinumdrive1 Size: 70 GB == vinum l == == dmesg == Copyright (c) 1992-2004 The FreeBSD Project.
