Right now, I'm using the "linux" terminal option in my shell, which is bash. Although it gives me what I am looking for, and what I am used to 9from linux) in an ssh session, it basically blows up when I am physically at the computer. I've tried different terminals; xterm, xterm-color, etc etc. Which would consistently give me a) color in my dir listings, and b) the ability to use the delete/backspace keys as they're meant (under some terminals, I guess they have different mappings). I'm really tired, so maybe I'm not as clear as I meant to be. I'm sure that someone has experienced the same situation, and I am looking for the help of those who have.
