Correct. This however doesn't mean this is not a problem with this specific port. It needs to be addressed in this port. A systemic solution is also needed. To wait for a systemic solution is not an option because I suspect there is no quick solution. Though, I think it will probably involve a framework that provides some knobs of some sort. Personally, I sequester my two workhorse machines to occasionally refresh my package repository. poudriere options maintains my specific options. I'm sure others do the same. Without this it can be quite a hassle removing packages to replace them with others in order to install seemingly conflicting prerequisites in order to install others. It can become a tangled web of conflicting dependencies.
