I agree with this entire post but need to add one thing if you are doing other
things than running CS ensure that you have at least a 600mhz machine and @
least 512MB ram. My cs server runs on the same machine as I do web hosting. The
machine is now a 1GHZ duron with 1.5GB of RAM and it does not break a sweat
with serving 100k web impressions a day and running a 14 person web server, it
also runs admin mod etc as well.

To install the basics for a server go into /usr/ports/games/hlserver-cs/ which
will install HL1108 and CS1.3 .
