I've run into similar problems with a Mitsumi CD (old 8bit card)
It panics (same error) and reboots. That I can't help with.

Here's what I use on such drives:

	wd0a	/	32M
	wd0s1b	swap	16M
	wd0s1e	/var	16M
	wd0s1f	/usr	140M		(or whatever's left)

Really difficult with that small a drive, since X takes up 50MB just to
itself, and (from what I've seen) want's a lot of memory hence a lot of
swap space. Hard drives are fairly cheep, so you might want to think
about either getting another small drive (second hand as they are not
made anymore), or just spending around $200 to throw a 1Gig IDE drive
into the beast.
