The user is >called "root". :) Don't think of it as a joke. If I get this correctly, the question is: How do you let one user insert, remove, and switch CD's without granting him root privileges? I can imagine one way, using SUID scripts owned by root, run by that user. But as I'm still pretty green, I'm not sure if it will work; or if it is even necessary. One thing you could make sure of, is that these commands are issued from the local terminal. Remotelyremoving a CD makes not much sense. -- Bart.
