First of all I'm not sure how to tell if they are recognized during the boot process (I see something in dmesg but don't know what it means, and since I can't figure out how to get information between partitions.) I've got a static IP and would be just as happy manually entering the information so I know what's going on. I tried the information in chapter 20 of The Complete FreeBSD but it's written above my level right now and seems to assume that en0 will appear in the Network Services Menu. Anyway, I'm getting really frustrated. I can't figure out X until I can get a couple example files copied over, and then once I can get X going I'm going to no doubt want to get online. (And if I get online I can start to find out more information about FreeBSD while actually in it, which I think will help a great deal.) So I see this as the checklist: 1) Get en0/Internet connection working 2) Update FreeBSD (working off ISO for 4.3) 3) Get XFree86 working 4) Get Window Manager working 5) Get Netscape (other?) browser working Seems simple when you look at it like that, but really....
