It's not an in-depth technical discussion, so I think it belongs on -questions. It would be nice to know if you have any other messages along with it. One possibility, which the hackers mentioned, is that it's a telnet to the smtp port which didn't send a message. In normal use, it's probably the result of a connection which failed, possibly because your system rejected it as spam. Here's an example of the latter case: Feb 24 21:22:23 allegro sendmail[22165]: NOQUEUE: ruleset=check_relay, arg1=f230.hotmail.com, arg2=207.82.251.121, relay=f230.hotmail.com [207.82.251.121], reject=550 Sorry, we no longer accept mail from hotmail due to the high spam content.
