It's not an in-depth technical discussion, so I think it belongs on -questions. It would be nice to know if you have any other messages along with it. One possibility, which the hackers mentioned, is that it's a telnet to the smtp port which didn't send a message. In normal use, it's probably the result of a connection which failed, possibly because your system rejected it as spam.
