I think they just ignored the problem, but am not totally sure.

probably, yes. I will make it work this way in the next snap (and
it's easy, look at sb_set_recmask(). I decided to cut all sources
because lately I was testing vat (on a CS4236 though) using a source
connected to the 'line' input, and assuming the SB16 in full duplex
is ever supported I did not want to hear the feedback.
