I compiled a new kernel with "device pcm". After typing "grep pcm /var/run/dmesg.boot I get: pcm0: port 0xe400-0xef44 irq 5 at device 7.0 on pci0 but as in the FreeBSD handbook, I should get something like "on sbc0" at the end, which is not the case here. Has anybody yet made this chipset (CMedia8738) running under FreeBSD 5.1 Thanks for any hints Gabriel
