Ade, please think this out and let us discuss your plan, so that there are no duplicated (e.g. wasted) efforts. Perhaps if there would be no intermediate cvs repo then some evolutionary approach should be used - i.e. instead of trying to put it all together and then commit as a one big megapatch (the task which certainly would take quite some time) start committing it ASAP component by component in the dependency order.
