engineers for FULL-TIME employment just north of Boston, MA.  =

Job Spec:
Experienced Software Engineer to participate in the design and =
development of Avid's Video Server products. The position involves =
maintenance activities associated with the existing product as well as =
participation in the design and development of the follow-on product. =
These systems are real-time software applications running on custom =
hardware enclosures.=20

As a member of this team you will have the opportunity to work on =
embedded real-time application running on a custom hardware enclosure =
based on the Unix operating system. Application development is in C and =
C++ on Unix and Windows operating systems. You will work as part of =
small team that coordinates with a 3rd party development company in =
India. As part of the Avid team you will be responsible for overseeing =
all of the system design and software development activities.=20

Responsibilities include:=20
* Support for AirSpace Product
* Root cause analysis of field issues with existing AirSpace product
* Development of patches for field issues
* Development of custom features
* Bug tracking and resource assignments including offshore team
* Release management for patches
* Support of field test process
* Design and Development of next generation product
* Participate in functional and design reviews of new product
* Participate in the software development process
* Interface with QA and Marketing to ensure product meets market needs
* Participation in software development activities

Software will be based on FreeBSD (Unix) and or Embedded XP for the =
server side applications and Windows XP / 2000 for the client side =
applications. The ideal candidate has extensive expertise with embedded =
C and C++ applications, extensive experience with Unix OS, has strong =
troubleshooting and debugging skills, and has engineering lead =
experience. Versatility and technical breadth is a strong =
differentiator. Project leadership skills a plus.

Required Skills:
* Must have extensive expertise with embedded C and C++ applications.

* Masters Degree in CS/EE a plus.
