Since this was cc:'d to the list, i'm going to put my 2 cents in.  Since
I've gotten kde downloaded and installed I've been very happy.  I haven't
figgured gnome out yet so I can't give an opinion on that.

And if you like something that is very visually appealing consider taking a
look at enlightenment.
