I just checked, ck-launch-session does ignore it and redefine it. Moreover,
pam_xdg sets XDG_RUNTIME_DIR to /var/run/user/<username> while
ck-launch-session sets it to /var/run/user/<uid>. Let's hope this does not
break anything in subtle ways.

BTW, this is one of reasons I was initially unsure about the whole pam_xdg
idea. I still believe that it should've gone into Ports first, then careful=
ly
be enabled for chosen DMs/DEs and only after wide adoption within ports be
pushed into base and enabled unconditionally.
