The password encryption techniques used by smb and unix
are incompatable. You have two choices. One is to maintain a seperate
authentication database for the samba shares using smbpasswd. The other
choice is to turn off password encryption in the windows regestry.
Both techniques are documented in files at /usr/local/share/doc/samba/textdocs
