As per our off-line communications - FreeBSD is not on the same drive (as is
assumed for FAQ 122). With 2.2.6-stable, following those instructions with
FreeBSD being on a different drive merely causes MBR to go the way of the
dinosaur.

Not sure of 3.1

| If you've got the NT boot loader installed then I would suggest
| that you *don't* install the FreeBSD boot manager. You can add
| FreeBSD to the NT boot menu (see FAQ122.html) that means that you
| don't have to go through 2 boot menus to start NT.
