  I have the same setup.  Try the following:

  chio move slot 0 drive 0 (to load tape)
  chio move drive 0 slot 0 (to eject)

  I don't have it working with Amanda yet but I see /dev/ch* and
/dev/nrst* /dev/rst*, etc.

  I am running 2.1.6.1 BTW.

  PS:  Please let me know if you get Amanda working.  I've got the
tpchanger script working but it generates quite a few warning messages
(mostly st0 timeouts, etc.).
