Follow up: after upgrading BIOS on my workstation motherboard the same 
problem appeared on well-working radeon 9250. but workstation has xorg 
6.9.0 installed. so, probably problem not in xorg core, but rather in 
radeon drm kernel module.

Any information concerning this would be presented
