Dear all, =20 I am running FreeBSD 6-RELEASE with Gnome 2.12.3 (latest port) =20 I am facing the following problem: =20 When I start different gnome applications, the first time they start, = the CPU utilization goes to 100% for about 4-5 seconds (PIII 933MHz), = then it drops and then they start normally. If I start them again, they = start immediately without problems (no 100% cpu utilization). =20 Here is another thing I have noticed that might be of help to you: I = start firefox and starts right away. However when I go to a site that = needs username and password to be entered, the system goes 100% for 5 = seconds and then the window to enter the username and password appears. = It seems that it has something to do with some kind of windows when they = load for the first time or something... =20 I have also noticed at the gnome task manager, that the 95% out of the = 100% CPU utilization is consumed by some system process(es?) but I = cannot find out what is going on. =20 Please help! =20 Best Regards, =20 Dimitris Rizopoulos. =20
