Make sure you are creating a default route so the system will use the dialup interface instead of the ethernet. This is best handled by typing "add 0 0 HISADDR" after connecting in ppp. Then check 'netstat -rn' and make sure the routing tables look okay. I disabled my ethernet card while I am here at home using ppp. When I get back to the University this fall I'll turn it back on again to use the local net.
