Some 'hang', others will display 'torn' images in the preview window. non-GL screen savers seem to function correctly. re-compiling xscreensaver-gnome libgle and libglut does not appear to have any effect. 2 machines affected equally, one with SiS video hardware using the sis driver, the other with VIA video hardware and using the VESA driver. One machine is running a recent kernel (see below); the other is running a kernel that is about 2 months older. This problem did not appear until after upgrading gnome and xorg.
