If English version is on FTP and translated versions are on WWW, it makes more complcated, I think. If both English version and translated versions are on FTP, how we (doc committers) edit the files on FTP site? o Since files on FTP sites does not exists in CVS repository, Translation teams have difficulty to know how/when the file is modified. For example, Japanese doc team uses a tool which compare the /www/en and /www/ja directory of CVS repository. o On the FTP site, files of the old releases will be deleted very soon. I think release notes of old -RELEASEs are very important. > Thoughts? I have a plan. 1. Put the FTP-site version of RELEASE NOTES and ERRATA into CVS repository ( for example, /www/ftp/X.X-RELEASE/ ). 2. Modify the /www/(en|ja|...)/release/X.XR/Makefile. Current: relnotes.sgml -> relnotes.html errata.sgml -> errata.html Fix: /www/ftp/X.X-RELEASE/RELNOTES.TXT -> relnotes.html /www/ftp/X.X-RELEASE/ERRATA.TXT -> errata.html -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Motoyuki Konno mkonno@res.yamanashi-med.ac.jp (Univ) motoyuki@snipe.rim.or.jp (Home) motoyuki@FreeBSD.ORG (FreeBSD Project) Yamanashi Medical University http://www.freebsd.org/~motoyuki/ (WWW) To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe cvs-all" in the body of the message
