I'll try to report what's in my logs at logging level 2 if the problem reoccurs. I'm running Samba 2.2.1a from the ports tree and my network config is like this: I have 3 computers on my 100Mbit network, all connected to an SMC NAT Router on an ADSL internet connection. The 3 machines on the network are (with their network cards): Windows XP [Netgear FA310-TX], Windows 98SE [Netgear FA310-TX] and FreeBSD 4.4 [Intel EtherExpress PRO/100B]. -----Original Message----- From: Mark Rowlands [mailto:mark.rowlands@minmail.net] Sent: Thursday, September 20, 2001 6:07 AM To: Trevin Chow; questions@FreeBSD.ORG Subject: Re: Flaky Samba server yep....and in my case it was a dodgy network card but why not try 1) bumping up the logging level : log level = 3 (for example) 2) checking your log files and reporting what it says. 3) Saying what version of samba you are running 4) Giving a more detailed description of your physical network.
