Hello, I've just finished to install FreeBSD 2.2-ALPHA on my machine. Everything finally compiled fine, without errors. The only problems I had yet are those one: At boot time, the system writes writing to routing socket: Can't assign requested address add host stef.prodige.qc.ca: gateway stef: Can't assign requested address Also, when I connect to my ip with pppd, then disconnect end reconnect again, I received these four messages Dec 24 13:08:25 stef routed[55]: interface ppp0 to 199.174.166.87 turned off Dec 24 13:08:25 stef routed[55]: IP_DROP_MEMBERSHIP ALLHOSTS: Can't assign requested address Dec 24 13:09:05 stef routed[55]: IP_ADD_MEMBERSHIP ALLHOSTS: Address already in use Dec 24 13:09:05 stef routed[55]: setsockopt(IP_ADD_MEMBERSHIP RIP): Address already in use Since I'm not expert in networking, it may be me the problem. But I never had theses problems with 2.1.5-RELEASE. The other small problem I had is that the library libgnumalloc is now moved in /usr/lib/compat. Since X Window is using it, I had to make a symlink if this library in /usr/lib. Is the latest version of FreeBSD malloc as safe as gnumalloc? If yes, I'll recompile X Window with the gnumalloc option turned off. Thanks. Stephane Russell -- ]B-) <-- is this Bill Gates?
