My, what a troll you are. I'm surprised you even got Linux to run if you can't make boot disks. And what is this "running FreeBSD in NT" crap? FreeBSD is an operating system, you idiot, not an NT program. > i have found the repeated claims of freebsd > superiority to be a bunch of crap! What claims would these be? I am not familiar with the claim that FreeBSD is an NT program. > recognize the presense of my adaptec aha152x > scsi adaptor on my soundblaster 16 card. It's probably you. The aha152x is old and has (probably) been supported for a long time. > ...arrogance and contempt that i would dare to > question the godlike qualities of freebsd. If you speak to these people like you speak in your mail, it's not the "daring to question the god-like qualities of FreeBSD" that gets you contempt. > i was forced to use the ftp server as my source of installation No, you're just an idiot. > XFREE86 4.0, which then made my system inoperable. Not Mr. Hubbard's fault that you can't correctly type "make install" > the system said that there was no kernel on the floppies. Would these be the same disks I used to install FreeBSD several times? Let me guess, you put disk 2 in first. Let's refresh: 1, 2, 3, 4...see how that 1 comes before 2? Remember that. > freebsd should be directed towards providing > REAL SOLUTIONS for NT. So...you think FreeBSD should go out of their way to become an NT application? FreeBSD is an OPERATING SYSTEM, not an application! And it certainly should NT go out of its way to clone NT! > I WANT RESULTS! When I want results, what generally works best for me is to burst into a place where the people never heard of me and proceed to tell them that their fucking product sucks and to fix it just for me right now. Nine times out of ten these people bend over backwards just to satisfy me a little bit better. > i am not willing to install freebsd until the > aforemention criteria are met. Good, FreeBSD doesn't need you. Linux doesn't need you, either. > quite frankly, if i find the means to compile > XFREE86-4.0 and gnome for NT Why on earth would you want GNOME or even X for NT? Unless you're X hosting Solaris Maple or something, that's like saying "I want a Chevy in my Ford!" Your post is puzzling since you use some technical terms, such as compressed filesystems and UMSDOS filesystems, but you have absolutely no concept of what an operating system is or how to correctly make a floppy disk. I think you made this all up and had some spare time to waste. To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
