The official Sun 32-bit Linux binaries run on FreeBSD/amd64 (at least 5.3-RELEASE) with minimal effort and should be suitable for most tasks. The runtime suffers the same stability problems under Linux emulation on amd64 as it does on i386 when running certain intensive applications, but it may be worth a try.
