You provided no details, but I'm guessing you're trying to install the ia64 version of FreeBSD on an EM64T system. They are not compatible. The EM64T technology is compatible with the amd64 platform. The amd64 version of FreeBSD will work perfectly with EM64T systems. On a side note -- a LOT of people have been making this mistake recently.
